The concert this year was held on Sunday 7th August in front of the usual large crowd.
The Band of HM Royal Marines, Portsmouth, under the direction
of their Director of Music
Major P.F.Watson MMus, BA(Hons), BSc, LRAM ARCM, Royal Marines
gave their usual immaculate performance in a varied programme that included
various marches, the xylophone solo "Helter Skelter", trumpet feature
"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy",
the overture from "Russlan and Ludmilla" and a selection of Scottish dances.
The concert was followed by the re-dedication service,
conducted by Rev. Frank Kent BA, ARCM
and the band left us as usual with the RN march past "Heart of Oak" and the RM
Regimental march "A Life on the Ocean Wave"
